An Original Vintage Folded Dutch World War II Poster (measures 33 3/4" x 48" [86 x 122 cm]) (Learn More) Eenheid is Macht (literally translates to "Unity is Power"), the circa 1944 Dutch World War II (WWII) poster created by the occupying Nazi German-forces encouraging workers to join the Nederlands Verbond van Vakverenigingen (N.V.V.) trade union, and featuring art of two workers with a massive crowd in the distance. The NVV was founded in 1906 and during World War II, it was taken over by the German occupiers. Under their control, the NVV was transformed into a National Socialist union. After the war these influences were purged and the NVV cooperated with the center left government to create a welfare state based on the principles of corporatism. Artist: M Important Added Info: Note that this poster measures 33 3/4" x 48", and it was completely folded at one time, but it has been mostly unfolded (solely folded in half) for a long time. We can completely re-fold the poster (which will not harm it) and send it in a small flat package, or we could roll it in a tube while it is folded in half, so it would need to be sent in a tube that measures approximately 25" long. How we send it will depend on what the winning bidder wants, and whether they have flat or rolled items to combine it with. Note that this is one of a remarkable collection of 14 posters that were printed in Holland during World War II while they were occupied by Nazi Germany. They are all propaganda posters designed to sway the Dutch people to support the Nazis and fear the Allies. These posters are surely incredibly rare (since any surviving ones would have likely been destroyed soon after Holland was liberated, and in addition, there were huge paper shortages at this time. We are auctioning the 14 posters in 14 separate auctions. This is an extremely rare opportunity to purchase one or more of these extremely rare posters, which likely should be displayed in museums. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The poster has tiny paper loss at some crossfolds and separation at the ends of some folds (repaired with tape from the back). There is some small writing in a few of the letters at the top of the poster (see our image). Otherwise, the poster is in pretty nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
