An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Herald (measures 4 1/2" x 6" [11 x 15 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More)

The Beloved Bachelor, the 1931 Lloyd Corrigan pre-Code romantic love triangle melodrama ("A great lover - a charming rascal"; "He had that 'something' that women couldn't resist - not even the girl he adopted...."; "From a play by Edward H. Peple"; a really bizarre story of a man in love with a woman, but he ends up marrying another, and then the other woman gets killed, leaving behind a daughter, and the man adopts her, telling his wife that she is his illegitimate daughter, even though she isn't; years later, the girl has partially grown up and is a teenager, and the man can't help but fall in love with her, just as his did with her mother) starring Paul Lukas, Dorothy Jordan, Charlie Ruggles, Vivienne Osborne, and Marjorie Gateson. Note that times sure have changed! In 1931, the lead character was a "beloved bachelor" who falls in love with his adopted daughter, but in the present day, he might well get sent to jail for his behavior that had been acceptable in 1931.

Condition: good to very good. There are stains scattered in the right half of the interior and slightly in the bottom left of the cover, from where the herald was glued to a pressbook (which was typical at this time).
