Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) Nabonga (Gorilla), the 1944 Sam Newfield African jungle ape adventure thriller starring Buster Crabbe, Barton MacLaine, Fifi D'Orsay, Julie London (billed as "introducing Julie London"), Bryant Washburn, and Ray Corrigan (in the title role as Nabonga, the gorilla!). Note that this movie was released in England as "The Jungle Woman". Note that Crash Corrigan made a REALLY wise investment in the 1930s, when he bought a "gorilla suit". In many of the movies in the 1940s where there is a fake gorilla, it is played by Crash Corrigan, no doubt because he could supply the suit! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: fine. This slide is unusual in that there is cardboard solely on the front of the slide and it is attached to the glass with black tape on all four edges.
