An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Canvas Banner (measures 36" x 112") (Learn More) The Chinatown Mystery, the 1928 J.P. McGowan Asian Oriental crime serial ("Smashing Serial-Play"; "10 weeks of thrills and chills!"; "A story of Chinatown and the Secret Service") starring Joe Bonomo (famous strong man who vied with Charles Atlas for the "Most Perfect Man", he appeared in 32 movies, but like Atlas, his primary business was selling books and pamphlets telling how to acquire a body like his!), Ruth Hiatt, Francis Ford, George Chesebro, and Sheldon Lewis NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: fine. The poster has many very minor border defects, and some very minor creases and scuffs in the image, but overall, this banner has survived in about as good condition as any of these very rare early canvas banners I have ever seen! It was obviously used once and then carefully stored away for many years. This week we have given a more detailed overall condition grade along with more details about the condition described in words. Of course, we could not describe every single defect, plus there are some defects (like creasing, tape on the back, extremely tiny pinholes, etc) which can be VERY difficult to see, even in our largest "super-sized" image. Therefore we strongly recommend that you BOTH read our written description of the item, AND ALSO look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the poster for minor defects that we did NOT describe.
