An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Movie Window Card (WC; measures 12" x 16" [30 x 41 cm]) (Learn More)

Betrayal, the 1929 Lewis Milestone romantic love triangle infidelity melodrama ("From a story by Victor Schertzinger and Nicholas Soussanin"; about a pretty young Swiss woman who is seduced by a bohemian artist, who then leaves her, and her father gets her married to the mayor of the town; she has an on-again-off-again affair with the artist, and she has two sons, and either might be the result of her infidelity, and when the mother is killed, and the artist fatally wounded, the mayor asks the artist which of his sons is really his, and the artist, being especially cruel, tells him the wrong son, and the mayor hates that son, even though he is really his) starring Emil Jannings, Esther Ralston, Gary Cooper, Jada Weller, and Douglas Haig. Note that the bohemian artist is played by third billed Gary Cooper in one of his earlier roles before he rose to major stardom! Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 12" x 16" [30 x 41 cm].

Condition: fair. The card was found in the back of a frame where it had been used as a backing board for a picture (many framers in the 1920s and 1930s would use window cards for this purpose, and they would trim them to the size of the frame, not caring that they were cutting into the image!). In this case, the trimming, which was to 12" x 16", affects the left and top of the card, and you can see what is missing by looking at our image. Since most of the title, image, and credits remain, I would think many people could display this card as is, but please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have them properly restored.
