An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Italian Photobusta Movie Poster (lrg pbusta; measures 26 1/2" x 37 1/2" [67 x 95 cm]) (Learn More) Per Qualche Dollaro in Piu (released in the U.S. in 1967 as "For a Few Dollars More"), the classic 1965 Sergio Leone German/Italian/Spanish cowboy spaghetti western sequel ("The man with no name is back! The man in black is waiting..."; "It's the second motion picture of its kind! It won't be the last!"; "The man with no name is back! The man in black is waiting... A walking arsenal - he uncoils, strikes and kills!") starring Clint Eastwood (as Monco), Lee Van Cleef (as Col. Mortimer), Gian Maria Volonte, Mara Krupp (billed as "Mara Krup"), Luigi Pistilli, Klaus Kinski (as Juan Wild, the Hunchback), Joseph Egger (billed as "Josef Egger"), Panos Papadopulos, Benito Steffanelli, Roberto Camardiel, Aldo Sambrell, Luis Rodriguez, and Mario Brega. Note that this movie was released in December of 1965 (no doubt to qualify for awards), but most of the Italian posters from the first release are dated 1966. This same situation exists with La Dolce Vita and many other classic movies. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that many collectors consider this poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this partially Italian movie, to be the very best poster from any of the Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns! Also note that we have previously auctioned four examples of this Italian photobusta. The last one was linenbacked, but in MUCH lesser condition, and the last one before that was 27 years ago, and it sold for $2,990! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had a second vertical fold right next to the regular one, with some tiny tears and creases in the middle half of the vertical fold. It also had some in the left and right 8" of the horizontal fold. It had a light diagonal fold starting from the top center and extending to the middle fold 2" to the right of center, with a matching horizontal fold in the bottom half of the poster, ending in the bottom border. There were a few other creases and scuffs scattered throughout. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. When the poster is looked at from a normal viewing distance, it displays well. When you look at it close up from an angle, you can see the creases and folds it had, but we assume few people will display this poster in that way, which is why we are grading it as "very good", but bear this in mind before bidding on this rare and desirable poster.
