The Avengers is a comic book superhero team created in 1963 by Stan Lee & Jack Kirby for Marvel Comics. The original team consisted of Iron Man, Ant-Man, the Wasp, Thor, Hulk, and Captain America. In 2012, there was an incredibly successful movie based on this team, which was followed by three direct sequels, as well as video games and TV shows.
