An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Swedish Movie Poster (measures 27 3/4" x 39 1/2" [70 x 100 cm]) (Learn More) Heilige oder Dirne (literally translates to "Saint or Prostitute"), the 1929 Martin Berger German silent romantic melodrama (based on the play by Georges Ohnet) starring Maria Corda, Vladimir Gajdarov, Hans Adalbert Schlettow, Hilde von Stolz, and Hans Albers. We could find no information about the plot of this movie, which is sad, because given the translated title and the great image on the Swedish poster (the only poster we have seen from this title), it looks like a fascinating movie (perhaps similar to "Pandora's Box", made in Germany earlier the same year). It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Finally, note that star Maria Corda was a major Hungarian silent film actress who moved to Germany, where she was directed by Alexander Corda, who she married. At the height of her fame, he was mostly known as her director! But when sound came in, her career diminished greatly, and they were divorced in 1932, and he changed his name to Alexander Korda, and became one of the most famous British producers ever! The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and minor wear on the folds. It had some tiny tears and tiny bits of paper loss around the edges.
