He would often appear briefly in his own movies as a gag. Some of his movies include: Rear Window (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film), North By Northwest, Psycho (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film), Vertigo, Strangers on a Train, Notorious, Rebecca (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film), Shadow of a Doubt, The 39 Steps, The Lady Vanishes, The Birds, Dial M for Murder, Lifeboat (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film), Spellbound, The Man Who Knew Too Much (he made this one TWICE!), The Trouble with Harry, and many, many more! He passed away in 1980 at the age of 80. Important Added Info: Note that this photo, which measures 16" x 20" [41 x 51 cm], was taken and copyrighted by famous photographer Timothy Greenfield-Sanders in 1976, but it was printed in 1983. He signed it in pencil in the lower right corner, along with a copyright date and the date of printing. Our consignor obtained this photo from a New York gallery in 1985 and has kept it ever since, until he has consigned it to us now. Condition: good to very good.
