Note that John Kitzmiller was a black African American who served in Italy in World War II, and he decided to stay there after the war, and he appeared in around 50 Italian movies! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Joseph Caroff & Mitchell Hooks Important Added Info: Note that the last time we auctioned this very desirable poster (which is FAR more rare than the one-sheet from this very first James Bond movie), it sold for $1,011, but that example was linenbacked and was in "good" condition prior to backing. The example we sold before that was paperbacked and it sold for $3,655, and it was in "good to very good" condition prior to restoration. In all, we previously auctioned the above two posters and four other examples. One was also backed, and the other three were unrestored, but all three were only in "good" condition. CLEARLY THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DIFFICULT POSTER TO FIND UNBACKED AND BETTER THAN "GOOD" CONDITION! Note also that this poster was lightly folded down the middle at one time, but has no horizontal fold, and it will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The poster was never machine folded but it was lightly partially hand-folded down the center at one time. The poster was displayed and has darkened somewhat. It has some light creases scattered throughout with a tiny pair of staple holes in each corner. Note that the poster has a very minor printing defect, which is a series of faint light blue and yellow lines down the left edge of the left blank border. This was a very minor printing defect that occurred during the printing of these half-sheets, and it is found on many 1950s and early 1960s half-sheets, and few collectors consider it much of a defect at all, because it is in the left edge of the blank border, has no effect on the image, and would likely be on all examples of this poster. Other than the above, the poster is in pretty nice condition (and it appears to be in better condition than the previous six examples we auctioned were). It can be displayed and enjoyed as it is, or certainly restoration could be performed. Learn More about condition grades
