Where Eagles Dare (released in some other countries as "Where the Eagles Dare"), the 1969 Brian G. Hutton English/U.S. World War II (WWII) military spy espionage action thriller ("One weekend Major Smith, Lieutenant Schaffer, and a beautiful blonde named Mary decided to win World War II."; "They must do what no army can do... go where no army can go... penetrate the 'Castle of the Eagle', nerve-center of the Gestapo, and blow it up!"; "These people work for the military. They must storm the Gestapo fortress and reach the Allied captive who knows the D-Day invasion plans. If they survive... Only then does their adventure begin!"; "They look like Nazis but... The Major is British... The Lieutenant is American... The Beautiful Frauleins are Allied Agents!"; "The Major is British... the Lieutenant is American. They're out to win World War II this weekend... or die trying."; "Their mission: penetrate the dread 'Castle of the Eagle,' the Gestapo nerve-center... and blow it up! Important Added Info: Note that these are a special group of posters printed in Italy for use in the U.S. (and likely other countries as well, because they have no writing on the front). Many special color posters were printed in Italy at this time for use in the U.S. and elsewhere, because Italy had the absolute best color printing. There is a stamp that reads "MADE IN ITALY" on the back of one of the borders on each poster. We have only auctioned a group of similar special Italian posters from this title once before, and they sold for $1,601! Those were a set of 11 as well, but while 10 of the cards are the same between the two sets, one is different, so the complete set may have been 12 or more. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note: We have 11 images of the Italian posters in this set, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 11 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 1. Note that these posters were folded at one time but have been laying flat for a long time and they will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: very good. The posters were once lightly folded across or down the middle, but they only have a "wave" in that area and not a crease. They have varying amounts of minor border wear, and there is a series of small holes that form numbers (typical of Italian posters of this period) at upper center. Some have tiny creases in just a few portions of the edges and the one with the explosion has a small tear at top. The rare posters are otherwise in nice condition!
