Banksy has managed to maintain his anonymity, which seems remarkable! One of his best known works was auctioned at Sotheby's in London and after the auction closed, Banksy activated a device built into its frame which caused half of the work to be shredded, and the new owner was delighted, because "experts" declared that this mutilation had at least doubled the value of the work!
