An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 10 3/4" x 13 1/2" [27 x 34 cm]) (Learn More)

Elsa Maxwell's Hotel for Women, the 1939 Gregory Ratoff romantic melodrama ("Elsa says: 'Don't ever shoot a man, dears! He's worth more to you alive than dead!'"; "Elsa says: 'Girls Do depend on men [the dogs!] ...some for excitement ... some for fame... and some even for love!'"; "A girl in every room ..and a man on every mind!"; "Based on a story by Elsa Maxwell and Kathryn Scola"; produced by Darryl F. Zanuck) starring Linda Darnell, James Ellison, Ann Sothern, Elsa Maxwell, John Halliday, Lynn Bari, Katharine Aldridge, Alan Dinehart, Jean Rogers, June Gale, Joyce Compton, and Amanda Duff. Note that 20th Century-Fox hired famous pin-up artists McClelland Barclay, George Petty, Bradshaw Crandell, and John LaGatta to create the one-sheet, three-sheet and half-sheets (and the lookalike title card) for this movie. Each featured great pin-up art of a sexy girl (none look like the actresses in the movie, but nobody minded!). They advertised it this way: "When these artists paint a girl, the whole world stops to LOOK! Petty, John La Gatta, McClelland Barclay, Bradshaw Crandell ...and each has created a striking figure especially for your 'Hotel For Women' campaign!"

Artist: George Petty
Important Added Info: Note that the art on this title card is by noted magazine and calendar artist, George Petty! Note that this lobby card has been trimmed and it now measures 10 3/4" x 13 1/2" [27 x 34 cm]. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good to very good. A tiny amount was neatly trimmed from each blank border. There is faint water staining in the top left corner, with a tiny water stain in the bottom left corner. There are some tiny scuffs scattered in the solid black background. There is a piece of tape on the back of the center of the top border, but it was not put there for any restoration purpose. In spite of the above defects, the card still displays pretty well!
