An Original Vintage Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh) (Learn More)

Love and Doughnuts, the 1921 Roy Del Ruth silent romantic slapstick comedy short (produced by Mack Sennett) starring Ben Turpin, Phyllis Haver, Billy Bevan (one of the better Charlie Chaplin imitators of the time), Kewpie Morgan, and Mildred June. Note that Ben Turpin was the famous silent comedian with permanently crossed eyes. Phyllis Haver had been a Sennett Bathing Beauty starting when she was 17 in 1916, and she soon graduated to playing the pretty girl in silent movies, including 30 with Ben Turpin, most from the very early 1920s, including this movie. Over the next few years, her star continued to rise, and she signed a contract with Cecil B. DeMille, and her most famous movie role came in 1927 when she played Roxie Hart in "Chicago". In 1929, she married a rich man and retired at the peak of her career!
