Date Sold 7/8/2018Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Autographed Color 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Publicity Still (Learn More) Priscilla Lane was an actress from the 1930s to the 1940s. She was one of the Lane Sisters (three sisters who performed together with Gale Page in a series of movies where they played four sisters). She also had a solid solo career in the 1940s. Some of her movies include: Arsenic and Old Lace, The Roaring Twenties, and Saboteur. Note that most people would naturally assume that there were only three Lane sisters in real life, which was why they had to cast a non-sister in the role of the fourth movie sister. But actually, they DID have a fourth sister, Leota, but she had a screen test, and did so poorly that she was sent home (which surely must have made for strained holiday dinners!). Priscilla passed away in 1995 at the age of 79. Important Added Info: Note that this color still (which was a promo from Auto-Lite spark plugs) has been personally autographed (signed) by Priscilla Lane! Also note that many celebrities kept multiple 8" x 10" (or smaller) copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original theater-used stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of that celebrity in their heyday, which, when signed by the celebrity, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall! Note that this item was consigned to us by a man who has been a major movie memorabilia collector and dealer from the 1970s on. During that time, he would regularly purchase collections of movie memorabilia from both dealers and collectors, and in some of those collections he purchased autographed items. Both we and our consignor feel it is quite likely that the autograph on this item is authentic, but he does not have a certificate of authenticity (unless noted above). As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: good. The still was glued to an album page and it was removed, causing surface paper loss on the back, and some creases down the left side (see our image) Learn More about condition grades
