The Hunchback of Notre Dame, the classic 1923 Wallace Worsley Universal silent Paris France Notre Dame Cathedral romantic religious historical horror melodrama ( "'Mighty Epic of a Mighty Epoch'"; adapted from the equally classic novel by Victor Hugo) starring Lon Chaney Sr. (in the title role as "Quasimodo", the Hunchback of Notre Dame), Patsy Ruth Miller (as Esmerelda), Norman Kerry, Kate Lester, Elmo Lincoln (best remembered for being the very first actor to portray Tarzan in the movies in 1918), and Winifred Bryson. Note that there was a wonderful sound remake of this classic silent movie in 1939, with Charles Laughton and Maureen O'Hara in the lead roles.

Important Added Info: Note that this Photoplay Edition includes a number of black and white plates from the film. This copy of the book includes the original dustjacket. It is uncommon to find these Photoplay Edition books with their dustjacket, as they often became frayed and were thrown out over the years.

Condition: very good to fine. The book itself is in fine condition. It has virtually no defects. The dustjacket is in very good to fine condition. There is minor paper loss at the top of the spine area (blank white paper only). The jacket is in a protective plastic sleeve.
