If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that Warner Bros. re-released this great movie in 1957 (after James Dean's tragic death, which made him a superstar), with posters that were similar to those of the original 1955 release, but with slightly altered images or taglines. The movie paper from this 1957 re-release are far more rare than that of the 1955 first release, likely because it did not play in as many theaters. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had creases, tiny tears, and fine surface paper loss on parts of several folds, and it had pinholes and some small tears around the edges, with some faint water stains in the bottom blank border. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
