An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French One-Panel "Grande" Movie Poster (1p; measures 44" x 59" [112 x 150 cm]) (Learn More)

Son Passe..! (literally translates to "Her Past..!"), the 1913 Henri Fescourt French silent romantic melodrama short (about a New York dancer who discovers she is an heiress to a wealthy duke and she tries to hide her past but her ex-fiance threatens to reveal all) starring Yvette Andreyor, Armand Tallier, Augusta Vallee, Jean Ayme, and Thierry. It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this French poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this French movie, and that was 5 years ago!

Note that this is an extremely rare pre-World War II French poster! Virtually no French posters survive from before, during, or right after World War II (mostly only pre-war heavy stock lobby cards, and even those are rare). Apparently there were many paper shortages in France during World War II, resulting in the destruction of almost all pre-World War II posters!

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at some crossfolds and some creases, tears, and tiny paper loss on many parts of some folds, with tears and small paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
