An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Style B One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Franz Werfel's The Song of Bernadette, the 1943 Henry King (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) France historical religious melodrama ("From the novel by Franz Werfel"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Jennifer Jones (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; in the title role as Bernadette), William Eythe, Charles Bickford (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Vincent Price, Lee J. Cobb, Gladys Cooper (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Anne Revere (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Marcel Dalio, Mary Anderson, and Blanche Yurka NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Norman Rockwell Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned three examples of this style B one-sheet, with iconic Norman Rockwell art! There is an oddity about this poster. The three previous examples we have auctioned had all the lettering (the title and all the credits) in a light blue color. This poster has those areas in a faint blue color. We don't think there is any chance this poster is faded, and the two posters are otherwise identical, so we think it is a case of them either initially printing the poster with a faint blue color and then changing it to a darker blue, or first printing it with a darker blue and then changing it to a faint blue. There is no way to know if one of these predates the other, and they are clearly both from when the movie was first released (this example is not backed, and it has "Song Of Bernadette 1Sht.B" stamped on the back). If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept this oddity about it. Condition: very good. The poster has very tiny tears and one tiny bit of paper loss in the vertical fold. It has a piece of paper tape on the back of the top center, where there was separation, and a tiny piece of tape on the back of the top crossfold, where there was tiny separation. There are some tiny tears in the left of the top blank border. Otherwise, the poster is in pretty nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
