An Original Vintage Theatrical Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22") (Learn More) The Leopard Man, the 1943 Jacques Tourneur wild-animal-on-the-loose murder mystery crime thriller ("Women alone the victims of strange, savage killer!"; "You'll gasp with amazement!"; "Thrill-Killer of Women and Girls!"; "You'll be astounded to learn that such things can happen!"; "Death striking from the dark with ripping fury!...Was it man or beast that tore to shreds victim after victim - striking only at defenseless beauty? ...Know the truth about these murders-for-a-thrill!"; "Produced by Val Lewton"; based on the novel 'Black Alibi' by Cornell Woolrich; as in "Cat People", Lewton and Tourneur did not have money for much make-up or special effects, so the posters for this movie promise much more than the film actually delivered in terms of a monster, but the movie works quite well on its own terms!) starring Dennis O'Keefe, Margo, Jean Brooks, Isabel Jewell, James Bell, Ben Bard, Abner Biberman, and Margaret Landry. A knowledgeable collector tells us that this may be the first film to use the desert of the American Southwest as a setting for a horror film. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded. Condition: good to very good. The entire poster has darkened somewhat. There is a 2" tear and a 1" tear near the center of the top blank border. There is a 1" tear in the upper right border and a 1/2" tear in the lower left border, and some creases around the edges of the card. The entire card is somewhat fragile, but other than the above, the poster is in surprisingly good condition, and is obviously an ideal candidate for professional conservation, as there is almost nothing wrong within the image area.
