An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Elizabeth Taylor was one of the most legendary actresses of all time! She started as a child actress in the 1940s, became a teen actress in the 1950s, and became a major star from the 1960s to the 1990s. Some of her movies include: Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf? (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), North and South, Cat On A Hot Tin Roof (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), A Place in the Sun, Giant, Jane Eyre, Father of the Bride, National Velvet, Suddenly, Last Summer (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Raintree County (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Butterfield 8 (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), and the "Lassie" films. Some consider her the most beautiful brunette actress of all time! She passed away in 2011 at the age of 79. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Elizabeth Taylor! Also note that this still appears in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the still was printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that it WAS printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us (and we have seen this on stills from the 1940s through the early 2000s, so it has certainly been done for an extremely long time)! So it is an original still from , but it was printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that our consignor purchased a collection of autographed stills that were collected by Leonard Sorgi, who was a unit manager for ABC for shows like The Soupy Sales Show, The Jerry Mahony Show, and many others. He was also Unit Manager for the Academy Awards for a number of years, and during his long and varied career, he met many celebrities and obtained autographs from them in person (often personalized to him). Our consignor (and we) feel certain that the autograph on this still is authentic! As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes.
