Coming to amaze you, charm you, thrill you!"; "With Eight new songs as catching as 'The Big Bad Wolf.'"; "To thrill you"; "Merriment!"; "Melody!"; "Magic!"; "The dwarfs sing their marching song on the way to work."; "Walt Disney's first full length feature production"; "The show sensation of the generation!"; "Wondrously filmed in all the glories of the marvelous multiplane Technicolor"; "The Screen's Supreme Thrill! 1,000 artists worked three years to give you this once-in-a-lifetime show!... A full hour and a half of the most enthralling entertainment you ever experienced... truly the miracle in motion pictures!") featuring the voices of Adriana Caselotti (in the title role as Snow White), Harry Stockwell (as the Prince), Lucille La Verne, Moroni Olsen, and Stuart Buchanan. Note that this movie is always referred to as a "1937" movie, but it actually only had a limited opening in December 1937 (no doubt to qualify for the Oscars), and then it had its wide opening in February 1938. But because it is always referred to as being from 1937, we refer to it that way as well (and of course, it is technically correct). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this auction also includes the printed envelope this item originally came with! Note that this is especially important (that the printed envelope is present), because this is one of the two ways you can tell the difference between the 1958 re-release scene cards and the 1967 scene cards. How so? Because when Walt Disney re-released this classic Disney cartoon in 1958, they created a set of eight lobby cards, with a printed envelope (the cards themselves are undated). When they re-released the movie in 1967, they used the same plates to print a new set of nine cards, adding a title card to the eight scenes from the 1958 set, and they put on the bag "This is a reproduced set of 9 authentic lobby cards from the 1958 rerelease of 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'" (they left out that they had added a ninth card!). So the scene cards from the 1958 set are likely impossible to distinguish from the scenes from the 1967 set (one could perhaps compare them side by side and find some minute differences, but we looked at images of the scenes from both, and we did not see any). In the past, when we have sold individual scenes from either set, we had identified them as being from 1967, because we were not aware that the 1958 scene cards were exactly the same. However, because this set has nine cards and because it comes together with the printed envelope from the 1967 re-release, that guarantees that this set IS from 1967. Condition: very good to fine. The cards are in wonderful condition. The envelope has smudges and stains, as well as some darkening, but it served its function, which was to protect the cards, which are in great condition!
