The character was a lawyer who was blinded by a radioactive substance which heightened his remaining senses beyond normal human ability. He took up a dual life of fighting against the criminal underworld in New York City as the masked vigilante Daredevil, which put him in conflict with many super-villains, including his arch-enemies Bullseye and the Kingpin. The character has appeared in a wide variety of media including TV and film.
