He was diversely-talented and flourished in an array of fields, including fashion, jewelry, graphic arts, costume and set dressing for film, theatre, and opera, and interior decor. He passed away in 1990 at the age of 97. Artist: Erte Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been personally autographed (signed) by the artist and hand-numbered 58/75! It is from a signed limited edition of 75 of the poster for Erte's First London Exhibition that was held from September 19 to October 21, 1967, which has his "Symphony in Black" illustration on it. It has "Printed in England at the Curwen Press London" printed at bottom center. We could not find another example of this limited edition offered for sale, but we found very similar signed posters that were not numbered that were priced in the thousands! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It has some faint brown stains around the edges in the white background areas, with a few faint creases. There is a tiny brown dot stain above the dog's neck (see our image).
