Biggest musical under the sun!"; "Hear 10 Irving Berlin Songs!"; "Congratulations MGM! 'Annie Get Your Gun' is the best job ever done of transferring a stage musical to the screen. -Irving Berlin"; "At last on the screen!"; "Based on the musical play with music and lyrics by Irving Berlin and book by Herbert Fields and Dorothy Fields"; about famed female sharpshooter Annie Oakley) starring Betty Hutton (in the title role as Annie Oakley), Howard Keel (as Frank Butler), Louis Calhern (as Buffalo Bill Cody), J. Carrol Naish (as Chief Sitting Bull), Edward Arnold, and Keenan Wynn. Note that Judy Garland was originally cast in the title role of Annie Oakley, but she was fired after a month of filming due to showing up late or not at all, and for conflicts with Busby Berkeley. Berkeley was the original director who was replaced by Charles Walters who was replaced by George Sidney. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still measures 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm]. Also note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock. Note that this still likely has a stamp on the back in the form of a diamond that has the letters "TRR". One certainly might wonder who placed this stamp there and why. The answer is that 146 of the stills in this set of auctions come to us from a still collector who has collected for many decades, and long ago he began stamping the back of almost his stills with this stamp, and "TRR" is his initials! We said earlier "likely has", because while this collector stamped most of his stills, he did not stamp every one, so you can see for yourself if this is one of the stamped ones by looking at our image of the back of the still. Each of those stamped stills are stamped lightly, and the stamp does NOT affect the front of the still. He is a VERY advanced collector, and he has consigned many wonderful stills to us!
