I get what I want with my fists!"; "I'll lick this town too! But I'll get to the top... a different way!"; in a twist on the usual plot of a musician-turned-boxer to raise money, in this movie, Cagney is boxing to help his musician brother, with tragic results; one of Cagney's best roles ever; look for director Elia Kazan and a very young Anthony Quinn in very strong supporting performances!) starring James Cagney, Ann Sheridan, Frank Craven, Donald Crisp, Frank McHugh, Arthur Kennedy, George Tobias, Jerome Cowan, Elia Kazan (the famous director in an early acting role!), Anthony Quinn, Blanche Yurka, Joyce Compton, Lee Patrick, and Bob Steele NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that during World War II, there were massive paper shortages in Belgium. Where Belgian movie posters had previously been approximately 23" x 32", there was such a shortage of paper that not only did they often have to print them on the back of other posters or maps, but during World War II, the size of the posters shrank dramatically, with some of them as small as 11" x 15". This situation continued even after World War II, until around 1946 or 1947, when they began making Belgian movie posters in a size of roughly 14" x 22", which became the standard size, and continued for decades! The posters like these that are from during World War II or immediately after, and which are printed in a small size (often on the back of other posters or maps) are INCREDIBLY rare (surely they did not print many, and surely many of them were soon recycled themselves! Note that this poster is linenbacked, and normally we would send linenbacked posters rolled in a tube, but because this is a very small poster, and because rolling it might caused it to have creases, we intend to send it in a flat package instead (however, if the purchaser of this poster also purchases other linen posters, and absolutely wants us to send it rolled with those other linens, we will do so). What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had minor fold and border wear. It had a faint smudge in Sheridan's cheek. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking.
