An Original Vintage Linenbacked English Travel Poster (measures 25" x 40" [64 x 102 cm]) (Learn More)

Highland Games, the circa 1950s British Railways poster ("See Scotland by Train") advertising the Highland Games held in Scotland and featuring art of men and women in traditional Scottish garb enjoying and participating in the games held in the village of Aboyne. Note that the poster shows a Scotsman in a kilt playing bagpipes and an athlete participating in the caber toss!. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Condition: very good to fine. The poster was never folded. It had darkened around the extreme outer edges of the blank borders and there was paper loss in the bottom left blank corner. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
