Cronin) starring Charles Coburn (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Tom Drake, Beverly Tyler, Hume Cronyn, Gladys Cooper, Dean Stockwell, Richard Haydn, and Jessica Tandy. Note that A.J. Cronin was a doctor who had health problems in 1930. He wrote a book called "Hatter's Castle" in 1931, and it was so successful that he stopped practicing medicine and wrote a series of books, all centering around doctors, including "The Citadel" and "Keys of the Kingdom", all of which were made into movies!
