Campbell Jr."; it is a re-make of the 1951 movie, "The Thing from Another World", based on the same story, and with James Arness as "The Thing") starring Kurt Russell, Wilford Brimley, T.K. Carter, David Clennon, Keith David, Richard Dysart, Charles Hallahan, Peter Maloney, Richard Masur, Donald Moffat, Joel Polis, and Thomas G. Waites. This is one of Carpenter's best movies, and in many ways it is more enjoyable and superior to the original version! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Drew Struzan Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been personally autographed (signed) by John Carpenter! Our consignor is a longtime collector who purchased this signed item from a reputable dealer. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. Note that we have noticed that there appear to be three different versions of this poster, the only difference being the placement of Kurt Russell's credit and the bottom white border. On this poster, he is listed separately on his own line and on the other posters he is listed at lower left in a not very prominent position. Perhaps he was not happy with his billing on the other poster and new posters were printed with the different credits arrangement. Some of the posters with the new credit placement were printed by the National Screen Service (and have the film title in the bottom border) and some were printed by Universal Studios (and lack the film title in the bottom border). All three styles are original first release posters. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes.
