She was "discovered" in France by Gene Kelly, who helped her to get a role in Hollywood starring opposite him in An American in Paris! Some of her movies include: Lili (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Gigi, Daddy Long Legs, Fanny, The L-Shaped Room (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), and Father Goose.
