An Original Vintage Linenbacked Argentinean Poster (measures 29" x 44" [74 x 112 cm]) (Learn More) an Argentinean "stock" poster created by Columbia Pictures for use by Argentinean theaters showing re-releases of their 1930s Gene Autry movies in the 1940s. Theaters would order this poster, which had a large blank rectangle at bottom. Sometimes the studio would overprint the stock poster with the title of a specific movie, and sometimes they sent a series of large paper snipes with the titles of specific entries of the series, so the theater could paste in each snipe as needed, thus getting many posters for the price of one. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the top two crossfolds and paper loss and tears at the bottom crossfold. It had some tiny tears on parts of some folds and minor border wear. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
