An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Avenger, the 1931 Roy William Neill cowboy western ("New thrills... new hair-breadth escapes in this powerful drama of the Gold Rush!"; "Rip-roaring, all action western!"; not only does Buck Jones play a Mexican, but he also is a masked Zorro rip-off!) starring Buck Jones (as Joaquin Murrieta), Dorothy Revier, Otto Hoffman, Edward Peil Sr., and Sidney Bracey. Note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good. There is paper loss in the left corners and in the right of the top border (the top right was completely detached at one time and it was repaired with tape from the back).
