Max (Alibi) Terhune was an actor from the 1930s to the 1950s. He was part of the Three Mesquiteers (as Lullaby Joslin). He was a ventriloquist who often performed ventriloquism in his movie appearances with his dummy, Elmer Sneezewood. Some of his movies include: Ride, Ranger, Ride, Manhattan Merry-Go-Round, Trail of the Silver Spurs, and Giant (uncredited, as Dr. Walker). He passed away in 1973 at the age of 82.

Important Added Info: Note that this letter has been personally autographed (signed) by Max Terhune! Ken Jones wrote him letters and this was one of Mr. Terhune's replies (and he typed his name and also Elmer's name, his ventriloquist dummy). Also note that this auction also includes the envelope this letter was originally mailed in!

Note that this item was consigned to us from the family of Ken Jones, who was an author of books about movies (including books about character actors and western stars). In the course of researching his books, he became friends with many Hollywood actors, and he would ask them to autograph stills for him (originals if he had them, or repros if he did not), and they obliged, usually returning the stills to him with a personalized inscription "To Ken".
