A Linenbacked English Commercial Poster (made to be sold directly to the public; measures 23 1/2" x 33" [60 x 84 cm]) (Learn More)

Gone With the Wind, the 1980s English political nuclear war spoof poster ("The film to end all films"; "She promised to follow him to the ends of the earth. He promised to organise it!") featuring Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher posing in the style of the Gone With the Wind poster. This poster was originally designed as the back page for an edition of The Socialist Worker magazine published for Christmas 1980. After that, it was released as a commercial poster (we have seen both an English version and a U.S. version). If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
Artist: John Houston & Bob Light
Important Added Info:

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had staining in the middle left, extending into the image. It had many creases and scuffs scattered throughout. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. Someone backed the poster without doing any real restoration. Linenbacking has lessened how noticeable the creases and scuffs are, but they are certainly still there (see our image).
