Robustas Matratzen (literally translates to "Robustas Mattresses"), the 1943 Swiss advertising poster (the tagline translates to "Slept lovely on Robustas Mattresses") promoting the purchase of mattresses and bedding, and featuring art of a ringing alarm clock by Edi Hauri

Important Added Info: Note that this is a "Sachplakat" poster, which means "Object Poster", a term which was coined in Germany around 1905 to describe a new type of poster which featured a realistic depiction of the product and little else. The craze for this poster type continued in Switzerland, where the passion for precision in printing and drawing technique was unsurpassed. Shortly after, the iconic beauty of the everyday object became the mission of a group of artists in Basel, who made the Sachplakat the leading Swiss style in the '40s and early '50s. Often laced with humor and of stunning visual impact, these posters represent the last great period of the lithographic poster, which high cost and long production cycles was soon to eliminate.

Condition: good to very good. The poster has creases and tears of varying lengths (generally 1" or less but some are larger) along portions of some edges (partially repaired with tape from the back).
