8 Original Vintage Theatrical International Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

To Trap a Spy, the 1964 feature movie based on the pilot episode for the television (TV) series, "The Man From U.N.C.L.E.", the Don Medford spy espionage crime action adventure comedy spoof ("America's favorite U.N.C.L.E.s have a date with danger!"; "there are a thousand thrilling ways 'To Trap a Spy'!"; adapted from the episodes "The Vulcan Affair" and "The Four Steps Affair" of the TV series "The Man from U.N.C.L.E."; "DANGER: U.N.C.L.E.s at work!"; "Join these two amazing undercover agents in the kind of wild, way-out action that made them famous!"; "Only the Men from U.N.C.L.E. stand between this country and disaster."; "A feature length hit from the TV show!"; "Written by Sam Rolfe"; the two episodes were joined together and re-edited to make a single feature movie) starring Robert Vaughn ("as Mr. [Napoleon] Solo"; "as 'Napoleon Solo'"), David McCallum ("as 'Illya'"; as Illya Kuryakin), Luciana Paluzzi (billed as "Special Guest Star Luciana Paluzzi"), Patricia Crowley, Fritz Weaver, and William Marshall. Note that this TV show was immensely popular in the U.S., and because of that, the first episodes were edited into a feature movie that was released theatrically in 1964. But because the show remained extremely popular, the producers were able to give that same feature movie U.S. distribution in 1966, even though it was a re-edited version of the first TV shows (the show was that popular!).

Important Added Info: Note that this is an "international" style poster or lobby card (meaning it was printed in the U.S. for use in non-U.S. countries). Somewhere in the early 1960s, MGM apparently made a huge "trade" deal with European movie distributors. From the early 1960s to the late 1960s, MGM released 100 or more non-U.S. movies in the U.S. under the MGM logo (some dating back to the 1950s), and in return, they apparently gave 100 or more MGM movies (from the 1950s and early 1960s) to those European distributors to release in Europe. All of the posters from both sets of releases have a very similar type of somewhat garish, very colorful artwork, and some have an MGM logo that is different from than on other MGM movies of the same time period, which makes it likely that those (with different logos) are from re-releases. None of these posters (except for the very first few of them) have any dates on them. Over the years, I have seen many of these posters (from both types) sold as first release, but, as stated above, some of these are mid to late 1960s re-releases, and the ones from U.S. movies are "international" posters (or lobby cards) that were used in non-U.S. countries.

Condition: good to very good. Five cards have a ratings stamp at near a corner (see our image).
