Original Vintage Theatrical Window Card Movie Poster (measures 14" x 22") (Learn More) Beggars of Life, the 1928 William A. Wellman silent/talking crime escape railroad train romantic adventure melodrama (based on the story by Jim Tully; in a significant portion of the movie, Brooks is disguised as a boy!) starring Wallace Beery, Richard Arlen, Louise Brooks (referred to only as "The Girl"), Blue Washington, Kewpie Morgan, Andy Clark, and Mike Donlin. Note that most film buffs consider this to be Louise Brooks' finest American movie! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this card has a cool close-up artwork image of Wallace Beery smoking a cigarette! Condition: good. The entire card is darkened and slightly stained (but the staining is most noticeable in the borders and on the back of the card). It is slightly rippled throughout. It is fragile and there is a 6" partial semi-circular tear in the center of the left border. There is paper loss in the upper right border and a piece above that that was attached from the back with tape. Obviously this rare and desirable window card could be restored by a talented professional and it would look great, and I could well imagine someone being happy to display it as is, as the image is largely unaffected by the defects, but please do not bid on this window card unless you can accept it as is or are willing to have it restored.
