Date Sold 12/31/2019Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) Upstage, the 1926 Monta Bell silent vaudeville circus romantic melodrama ("We're booked for New York next"; "'Who said you could dance!'"; "From the story by Walter de Leon"; about a small town actress who hooks up with a vaudeville troupe, and has some success at first, but ends up in a troupe with little people and snakes) starring Norma Shearer, Oscar Shaw, Tenen Holtz, Gwen Lee, Dorothy Phillips, J. Frank Glendon, Ward Crane, and Charles Meakin NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning and we have only auctioned a single 8x10 still for this title and NO other movie paper of any kind for the film! Condition: fair to good. The poster has several tears of varying lengths around the edges and some large tears at lower center (one is approximately 14") and those tears are backed by conservation tape. Someone burned the upper center of the poster with a cigarette at upper center (in Shearer's dress - see our image) and there is smaller paper loss above it and those are also backed with conservation tape. Despite the very rare poster's clear defects it is mostly "all there" and after proper restoration the poster will look fantastic, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
