An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded International Single-Sided One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 39 3/4" [69 x 101 cm]) (Learn More) The Matrix, the 1999 Andy Wachowski & Larry Wachowski (billed as "The Wachowski Brothers") U.S./Australian computers-take-over-the-world science fiction (sci-fi) dystopian future fantasy action adventure thriller ("Be Afraid of the Future"; "Free your mind."; "Believe the unbelievable") starring Keanu Reeves (as Neo), Laurence Fishburne (as Morpheus), Carrie-Anne Moss (as Trinity), Hugo Weaving (as Agent Smith), Joe Pantoliano (as Cypher), and Gloria Foster (as the Oracle). Note that since this film was made, both of the Wachowski siblings have become openly transgender women. However, they were known as the "The Wachowski Brothers" when this film was released, and we refer to them as such in this description. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is the super-cool and rare international style featuring an image of the top cast with lightning bolts in the background. We last auctioned an example of this poster in August 2024, and it sold for $3,100 (but that example was unfolded). We have also auctioned two other unfolded examples. This is the only folded example of this poster we have auctioned. We first auctioned it in 2012, and then it was reconsigned to us in 2015, and now it has been reconsigned to us again, but all three of these are the same example, so this is still only the fourth example of this poster we have ever auctioned (three unfolded and one folded). This lightning style is many, many times more rare than the non-lightning U.S. one-sheets (we have previously auctioned 120 of the non-lightning one-sheets!). Condition: very good. The poster has fine surface paper loss on parts of some foldlines (typical of high-gloss posters of this period). Otherwise, it is in pretty nice condition (see our image).
