An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 42" [69 x 107 cm]) (Learn More) The War Dog, the 1932 Renaud Hoffman World War I (WWI) German Shepherd canine dog military melodrama ("Monumental to a dog - - but what a dog!"; "Based on Chateau Thierry") starring Rex (as the title character), George Hackathorne, Majorie Daw, Mary Carr, and Will Walling. Note that this was originally a 1925 movie called "His Master's Voice". It was re-edited with new footage and sound and then re-titled and released in 1932 as "The War Dog". We are listing it as a separate movie from "His Master's Voice", because it is significantly different from the original film. Also note that Mary Carr became a major star in the mid 1910s around the age of 40, playing the parts of saintly mothers. She continued to make movies (switching to grandmother roles) through the mid 1930s, and then continued with mostly uncredited parts until the mid 1950s. She passed away in 1973 at the age of 99!
