(Learn More) The Jungle Book, the classic 1967 Wolfgang Reitherman Walt Disney animated animation cartoon ("The Jungle is Jumpin'!"; "He's been raised by wolves. Captured by apes. Hunted by a boy-eating tiger. And adopted by a bumbling bear named Baloo. Who'd have thought the jungle could be so much fun!"; "The Jungle is Jumpin' with joy!"; "An All-Cartoon Feature inspired by the Rudyard Kipling 'Mowgli' stories"; "Meet Kipling's famous characters ...the V.I.P.'s of the jungle") featuring the voice talents of Phil Harris (as "'Baloo' The Vagabond Bear with a Beat"), Sebastian Cabot (as "'Bagheera' The Man-cub's Jungle Guardian"), Louis Prima (as "King Louie' The Swingin' Jungle V.I.P."), George Sanders (as "'Shere Khan' The Aristocat with Switchblade Claws"), Sterling Holloway (as "'Kaa' the Bewitching Boa with a Hypnotic Eye"), J. Pat O'Malley (as "Col. Hathi' Pompous Leader of the Pachyderm Patrol"), and Bruce Reitherman (as the voice of Mowgli). This was the last movie to be personally overseen by Walt Disney. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: The Disney studio did something with their pressbooks that was different from all other studios. They would print a regular pressbook, and also print a separate "ad pad" which would contain all of the newspaper ads. It is difficult to find Disney pressbooks that have their ad pad, and both sections are complete without any cuts. Also, Disney pressbooks were almost always printed on much better quality paper (usually a glossy heavy stock) than other pressbooks of the same time. Note that pressbooks were prepared prior to a movie being released. Often, changes would be made in a movie advertising campaign (billing of actors, different images, etc.), and the theaters would print up special supplements that they would send out with the pressbooks that had already been printed. These supplements are very rare, far more rare than the pressbooks themselves! Some pressbooks would have no supplements, some would have one, and some would have several. Also note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook, and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners received pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Condition: very good, NO CUTS. The pressbook is complete and uncut. Learn More about condition grades
