eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result M109 GOOD, THE BAD & THE UGLY linen French 22x30 movie poster '68 Eastwood Date Sold 4/27/2004Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French Movie Poster (measures 22 3/4" x 30 1/2") (Learn More) Il Buono, il Brutto, il Cattivo (released in the U.S. in 1968 as "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly"), the classic 1966 Sergio Leone German/Italian/Spanish Civil War cowboy spaghetti western ("For Three Men The Civil War Wasn't Hell. It Was Practice!"; "Screenplay by Age-Scarpelli, Luciano Vincenzoni and Sergio Leone") starring Clint Eastwood (in the title role as The Good), Lee Van Cleef (in the title role as The Bad), Eli Wallach (in the title role as The Ugly; billed as "also starring Eli Wallach in the role of Tuco"), Aldo Giuffre, Mario Brega, Antonio Casas, Rada Rassimov, Aldo Sambrel, Enzo Petito, Luigi Pistilli, Livio Lorenzon, Al Mulloch, Sergio Mendizabal, Molino Rojo, and Lorenzo Robledo NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster is from the rare first French release (the printer's address at the lower left is "38 Rue PASCAL PARIS"). Note that in the image at right, Eli Wallach has a white flower in his mouth. This is really obvious when you look at the poster in person, but when you look at a small digital photo, you may not be able to tell what it is, and it might LOOK like a defect. But be assured that this is a flower in his mouth, and it IS part of the poster and intentional! Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). good to very good. There is small paper loss at the middle crossfold and there were tears, pinholes, and small areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. Note that at some point after the poster was linenbacked it was roughly handled and there are now creases down the left side of the linen border (very slightly extending into the edge of the poster) and also 1" horizontal creases running down in the center of the poster (not very noticeable or distracting).
