An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Australian Daybill Movie Poster (db; measures 13 1/2" x 29 3/4" [34 x 76 cm]) (Learn More) Limelight, the 1952 Charles Chaplin stage acting aging comedian romantic comedy ("Charles Chaplin in his human drama 'Limelight' it will move you to love, laughter and tears"; "The masterpiece of laughter and tears from the master of comedy!") starring Charlie Chaplin (Charles Chaplin; "In his human drama"; as Calvero), Claire Bloom, Sydney Chaplin, Nigel Bruce, Norman Lloyd, Buster Keaton (this was the only movie Keaton and Chaplin appeared in together!), Marjorie Bennett, "and for the Ballet, Andre Eglevsky, and Melissa Hayden". Note that this movie was released in 1952, but did not play in any theaters in the Los Angeles area until the 1972 re-release! This made it eligible for the Academy Awards in 1972, 20 years after its initial release! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this daybill was used by The Orpheum theater in Sydney, Australia that originally opened in 1935! The theater featured art deco design, two levels and seating for 1735. The theater was sold in the 1970s and converted into a shopping center. Luckily, in 1986, it was lovingly restored and re-opened as the Hayden Orpheum! Condition: good. There is a theater snipe glued across the bottom of the poster that adds approximately 3 1/2" to the overall height of the poster (the poster was not trimmed and the snipe could surely be removed by a professional restorer, or talented amateur, if one chose to do so). There are creases scattered throughout the poster and there is some tattering and staining around the edges. Learn More about condition grades
