Date Sold 8/2/2022Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Mary Ellen Comes to Town, the 1920 Elmer Clifton silent pretty-girl-goes-to-the-big-city crime comedy ("She's coming! The jazziest, peppiest girl in all filmdom in a snappy story of New York"; "Story by Helen G. Smith"; about a girl who gets mixed up with crooks who try to use her to seduce a rich man and get his money, but he turns out to be from the same small town she was from) starring Dorothy Gish (in the title role as Mary Ellen), Kate Bruce, Ralph Graves, Adolph Lestina, and Charles K. Gerrard. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good to fine.
