An Original Vintage Theatrical One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 26 1/2" x 40" [67 x 102 cm]) (Learn More)

Secrets of the Beauty Queens, which may have been a 1950s sexploitation movie. But the only poster we have ever seen on it is a roadshow one-sheet on a heavy board that solely has this title plus a muscleman with two sexy girls. The muscleman looks incredibly similar to George Eiferman, who was Mr. America of 1948, and the only movie he appeared in was "The Devil's Sleep", and in that movie, he not surprisingly runs a gym, where females train (and also take sleeping pills!), and we strongly suspect that this poster is for a 1950s roadshow release of that movie, and that the title on the poster we have seen is really just a tagline (perhaps there were a series of posters with different taglines). If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that the poster is on a heavy board (it was created that way) and was likely created by a regional company that supplied posters for roadshow releases of low budget movies. It will need to be sent in a very large flat package.

UPDATED 11/12/2012: Note that the consignor of these posters tells us that, contrary to what was written in the auction description, the posters had Plexiglas over them for the years they were displayed, but obviously it did not provide enough protection to the posters, because they sustained the damaged described on each.

Condition: fair to good. The poster was created on a heavy board, with red tape around the edges to create a "picture frame-like" border. Someone nailed the poster to a wall with nails in the red border areas and it hung on a wall unprotected for decades, and there are many scattered brown dot stains in the lower right, with a few in the rest of the poster. The red tape is separated and frayed in the corners. In spite of these many defects, the poster still is really impressive and would be striking on anyone's wall, and certainly, professional restoration could be performed, if the new owner desires it!
