An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Swedish Movie Still (Learn More) Branningar, the 1935 (released in the U.S. in 1949 as "The Surf") Ivar Johansson Swedish priest rape melodrama (about a young man who is forced to become a priest by his father, and he meets a beautiful young woman and rapes her, and then he is struck by lightning, and has a complete memory loss, but the girl he raped became pregnant, and when he later sees her, he regains his memory!) starring Ingrid Bergman, Sten Lindgren, Tore Svennberg, Bror Olsson, and Carl Strom. Note that this was Ingrid Bergman's third movie ever, it was her first starring role, after an uncredited role and a minor role. She would go on to make several more Swedish movies, and then it would not be until 1939 before she was brought to the U.S. and she remade one of her Swedish movies, Intermezzo, with Leslie Howard, and the rest, as they say, is history! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this wonderful still is a country of origin still for this Swedish movie. It likely measured 9" x 12" or so, and it was trimmed to 8" x 10". It is from the original 1935 Swedish release, and it was sent to the U.S. and used in Photoplay magazine when the movie was finally released in the U.S. in 1949, 14 years later. Also note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock. Condition: good to very good. The Swedish still originally measured larger than 8" x 10", but it was very neatly trimmed to 8" x 10" (see above). Otherwise, it is in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
