Date Sold 1/10/2016Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Back to God's Country, the 1919 David Hartford silent romantic adventure thriller ("Rydal had seen the swimming girl come dropping from the stream. As he sneaked toward her a great bear rose, roaring, from the chasm in the rocks and the girl hid behind it."; "Never have you seen a film like 'Back to God's Country'"; "Adapted from the story 'Wapi, the Walrus' by James Oliver Curwood"; set in the Canadian North country; a man kills the man who attacks his daughter, but later, another man threatens to expose his past) starring Nell Shipman, Charles Arling, Wheeler Oakman, Wellington A. Playter, and Ronald Byram. Note that this movie was remade in 1927, and it was remade again in 1953. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: fair to good. Only one pane of glass is present, and there is no black tape around the edges. It has staining around the edges (see our image). This can be cleaned and repaired by a professional or talented amateur, but please do not bid on this slide unless you can accept its defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
