An Unfolded French Special Poster (measures 31" x 46 3/4" [79 x 119 cm]) (Learn More) Automobilistes (literally translates to "Motorists"), the 1936 French public safety poster (with a tagline that translates to "The water in your radiator will not freeze if you add rubbing alcohol to it") warning drivers that in freezing temperatures adding alcohol to the radiator will keep the water from freezing. Note that the poster features art of a person standing at the front of a snow-covered car, and a centigrade thermometer showing 0 degrees If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Condition: good. The poster was once nailed to a wall and those nail holes have discolored (see our image). It has some creases, scuffs and smudges scattered in various areas and there is some paper loss at lower left. A few tears or other defects as described above are repaired with tape from the back.
