Date Sold 12/18/2016Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Die-Cut Movie Standee (measures 37 1/2" x 61 1/2" [95 x 156 cm]) (Learn More) Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan and the Amazons, the 1945 Kurt Neumann action jungle adventure fantasy thriller ("Based upon the characters created by Edgar Rice Burroughs") starring Johnny Weissmuller (in the title role as Tarzan), Brenda Joyce (as Jane), Johnny Sheffield (as "Boy"), Henry Stephenson, Maria Ouspenskaya (billed as "Madame Maria Ouspenskaya"), Barton MacLane, Shirley O'Hara (as Amazon Athena), and Donald Douglas (billed as "Don Douglas"). Note that Maureen O'Sullivan tired of playing Jane in the Tarzan movies, and in 1943, two Tarzan movies were made with no Jane at all, and in 1945, she was replaced by Brenda Joyce, who played the role in five movies. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this was a homemade die-cut standee for a local theater. They really put a lot of effort into it! The letters of the title are cut out pieces of wood that were glued onto the heavy board that the standee consists of. There are four cut-outs for stills from the movie (three of the stills are still attached to the back and one is missing). Note that this standee cannot be folded or rolled in any way, so it must be sent in a VERY large flat package that would be expensive to send. We will pack this poster between four super heavy 42" x 62" boards that we have purchased for $5 each, meaning that the cost of packaging this poster is $20 (because of the expense of the large cardboard). VERY IMPORTANT! This poster will likely cost around $100 total to send within the U.S. via ground UPS (but of course, we will only charge the actual cost of shipping) plus the above stated $20 for the packaging materials (we are also auctioning similar size posters that could be packed together with this one, and if so, the shipping per poster will come down drastically). Please bear this shipping cost in mind before placing a bid on this poster (and it would surely cost hundreds of dollars to send it out of the United States, so we ask that no one bid on this poster unless they can accept delivery of it within the U.S.). Condition: poor to fair. The standee has considerable issues. One of the stills is missing and there is much staining and damage in the bottom left corner. There is paper loss in the top center of the image, with many stains and areas of paper loss scattered throughout the image, and many stains scattered in the right yellow area. The original wood frame is attached to the back of the poster, but it likely had a metal bar that screwed into the middle of the frame (to allow it to be stood up) that is missing, but easily replaced. Please do not bid on this standee unless you have read the above and looked closely at our super-sized images. Learn More about condition grades
