A Framed Original Vintage Autographed Castelli Graphic Invitation Screenprint (measures 7" x 7" [18 x 18 cm]; frame measures 11 1/2" x 11 1/2") (Learn More)

Andy Warhol was an artist from the 1950s to the 1980s. He was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art, founded Interview Magazine, was the author of numerous books, managed and produced the band Velvet Underground, and his studio, The Factory, was a famous gathering place for celebrities and artists. He passed away in 1987 at the age of 58. Warhol had had gallbladder issues, which he delayed getting treated as he was scared of hospitals and doctors. Because of a previous murder attempt, as well as his age, the 'routine' surgery had significant risks, and Warhol died in his sleep after suffering from an arrhythmia.
Artist: Andy Warhol
Important Added Info: Note that this is an invitation to attend an Andy Warhol exhibition in 1981 at the Castelli Gallery in New York City, and it has a miniature version of Andy Warhol's "Pink Marilyn". Our consignor's father was at this event and Andy Warhol signed it. In 2020, our consignor took this invitation to a company called "Art Brokerage", and they issued him a certificate of authenticity (see our image).

Condition: very good to fine. The invitation was framed and attached to the mat with hinges in the corners. From what we can see of it, it appears to be in excellent condition, but of course, we don't want to remove it from the frame to confirm that. Please do not bid on this unless you can accept that we are basing our condition grade on the portion that we can see.
